Cross-border partnership in the field of orofacial pain and craniomandibular dysfunctions

Representatives of the Faculty of Stomatology of ”Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in the launch of the EduNOC project - CROSS-border EDUcational Network for Orofacial Pain and Craniomandibular Disorders (RAMD00337 - Interreg NEXT Romania - Republic of Moldova Program).

The event took place at Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi on July 25, 2025, marking the debut of the cross-border partnership between the Iasi university and Nicolae Testemitanu University, as coordinator and main partner for initiating the development of the joint educational platform, with the objective of improving the quality of training for health professionals in the orofacial pain and craniomandibular dysfunctions area.

The direct beneficiaries of the project are students and residents in dental medicine and other specialties relevant to the pathology addressed, specialist doctors and practitioners in the territory, trainers and coordinators of educational programs from Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy has an essential role in the local implementation of the project and contributes by: equipping training spaces with modern technologies for the assessment and treatment of cranio-mandibular dysfunctions; elaborating educational content by developing scientific and clinical materials in collaboration with Romanian partners; organizing local educational activities by conducting courses and training sessions addressed to students, residents and doctors; integrating research into professional training by applying research results in the educational and training process, visibility and promotion activities by supporting communication, information and dissemination actions at the local level.

As associated organizations, the colleges of dentists from Botosani, Iasi, Vaslui and Galati counties, Apollonia University of Iasi, as well as the Association of Dentists of the Republic of Moldova and the Fala Dental Training Center (Republic of Moldova) represent essential factors of this joint educational endeavor, actively contributing to strengthening the cross-border dimension of the project.
